This ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section is for the benefit of new fans of David Dallas who are not familiar with Dave’s work as Con Psy or with the group Frontline, and for long-time fans to help clear up any confusion about Dave’s recent name change.

Who is Con Psy?

Me (Dave) – it’s the performing alias I used to go by.

Why have you changed your stage name to David Dallas?

I just felt more comfortable with it really. I would never introduce myself as Con Psy to anyone and I’d always just tell people my name was Dave anyway, so I figured I might as well use my real name.

Who is Frontline?

A duo consisting of myself and producer extraordinaire FortyOne (Nick Maclaren). We released 2 albums -What You Expect?(independent) and Borrowed Time’(Dirty Records) which received the Best Hip Hop Album at the New Zealand Music Awards 2006.

What’s up with Frontline? Why have you gone solo?

Seemed like the right time for me to do my solo thing, and I wanted to step out and put my personal stamp on the world. Nick and I are still all good and he’s handled all the recording and a large portion of the production on my forthcoming album Something Awesome.‘He wasn’t into the whole “artist” side of the biz and prefers to be in the background just doing music and chilling with the family.

What is a podcast?

We’re releasing the new David Dallas ‘The artist formerly known as’ mixtape as a free podcast, and I assume that many of you may not be familiar with this concept. I’ve written this here to help those of you who have never subscribed to a podcast before…

A podcast in simple terms is a series of shows in either audio or video format that is delivered via the internet to subscribers for free. Think of it like subscribing to your favourite TV or radio show and having it delivered to your computer everytime there is a new episode so you wont miss it or to ensure that you are the first to view or hear it. The main gist of this is that if you subscribe to the David Dallas podcast your computer will automatically download the latest podcast content from David Dallas, such as the new mixtape.

How do I subscribe to the David Dallas mixtape?

All you need is iTunes or some other podcast/podcatching program. Fortunately most of you will have iTunes already, if not it’s available for free download here. To subscribe using iTunes you can simply click on the button below which will direct you to the David Dallas podcast directory then press the ‘Subscribe’ button or follow the step-by-step instructions to add it manually.

To add manually

1. Open your iTunes

2. Go to the ‘Advanced’ menu

3. Click on ‘Subscribe to Podcast…’

4. Copy and paste the following feed URL into the dialogue box

http://www.daviddallas.co.nz/?feed=podcast

If you are using any other podcast/podcatching software I assume you are probably already a podcast genius and wont need any assistance other than the feed URL which is http://www.daviddallas.co.nz/?feed=podcast
